Professional History

Shawn joined VBA in 2013 when the company had just 13 employees, beginning his career at VBA as a Software Engineer. He was promoted to Manager of Engagement Solutions in 2020 and then to Director of Application Services in 2023, reflecting his growing impact on the organization and the platform.

Throughout his tenure, Shawn has been instrumental in elevating technical quality, strengthening architectural alignment, and developing high-performing engineering teams. As Vice President of Software Engineering, he focuses on modern development practices, platform scalability, architectural consistency, long-term system health, leadership development across Tech Leads and Engineering Managers, and driving strong execution across Software Engineering and Architecture.

Shawn brings more than 20 years of software development experience, specializing in web applications. Prior to joining VBA, he developed loan, investor tracking, and payment software for a Las Vegas–based real estate investment firm.

Personal History

Shawn lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, Britty, their four children, and three dogs. A lifelong learner and creative at heart, he enjoys reading, art, gaming, movies, cooking, and basketball. He is also a committed vegan who enjoys exploring new ways to combine his love of food, creativity, and wellness.
